In 1945, after the surrendering of Japan, Seoul’s citizens were enjoying their liberation from the occupation. In the photography, we can observe a crowd gathering at Seoul station, welcoming the American’s troop. September 8th 1945 is the start of the American occupation.

After a period of temporary control, an independent Korean government had been set in 1948 but then, right after the Korean War broke out and the city suffered a great loss.
