Dhaka/ British Rule – Bibliography Items 1

Furumai, H. (2007) Southeast Asian Water Environment 2: Selected Papers from the Second Internal Symposium on Southeast Asian Water Environment, Hanoi, Vietnam, December 2004 and the Third International Symposium on Southeast Asian Water Environment, Bangkok, Thailand, December 2005. London: IWA Publications

The above source provided an all rounded view towards the entire Southeast Asia, about the water environment, that includes many of the British colonies, giving me information in generalizing the overall water management under the British Rule, as these countries are having the similar weather condition and facing similar threats.

Saleemul Huq and Mozaharul Alam. Chapter 9: Flood Management and Vulnerability of Dhaka City. Web Source. <http://www.bvsde.paho.org/bvsacd/cd46/cap9-flood.pdf>

The article provided me natural threats that Dhaka was and is still facing.  Its detailed description with the illustration of maps and population figures supported the entire argument, which some of them are extracted in supporting this research project.  Its bibliography also beneficial for me in researching this particular topic.
