The book does not only focus on Kuala Lumpur, but the overall view on the cities in Southeast Asia. Having Kuala Lumpur as a major study, it clearly point out the trend of economic and spatial development happened in KL. By comparing it to other major cities, the common and unique development problem in KL is explained. Thus it enables us to understand and find solution to the problems.

Similar to books that cover the whole region, this book does not give too much evident to support its argument. Figures and illustrations are needed to be supplemented to it.
