URBANIZATION AND IDENTITY: THE BUILDING OF AMMAN IN THE TWENTIETH CENTURY
The thesis works on the urbanisation and identity of Jordanian-Jordanians and Jordanian-Palestinians living in Amman. By exploring the people, architecture, and the successive attempts in gaining control of the cities by different parties, the thesis shows the ever-changing Amman and study the relation of identity to both modernity and nationhood.
