The article discusses the relationship between Buddhism and Mongolia. It traces the downfall of Buddhism and related architecture and temple since the early 1900s and the happenings towards Buddhist believers during the Soviet period. The author also describes the suppression from both the Soviet and also the Mongolian leaders at that time. The article focuses on the conflict between political regime and religious belief in Mongolia and the struggle between different stakeholders in hope of a change for the better in the decade of 1990.
