Kyoto City Landscape Policy 2007/ Introduction


“Successful preservation of the historical cityscape requires input and cooperation of government, local authorities and the public.”

The 2007 Landscape Policy was an important point in the history of Kyoto that significantly aided the preservation of its historical cityscape. The success of the policy, including the preceding events and responses which followed, represented a joint effort from the national government, the Kyoto government and people of the city. The blog entries will explore how the different parties have contributed to the preservation of the city fabric.
