The Yeouido Plan, 1968
In 1965, the recently established Korean Engineering Consultants Corporation (KECC) became the lead governmental organization for the construction of state-led projects and infrastructures, including major highways and bridges. They hired Kim Soo-Geun for the design of the Yeouido island.
Here are the archived drawings for Kim’s Yeouido.
Kim later became the second inaugurated president for the KECC, and the organization employed many more well-known architects that shaped South Korea today, with works including the infamous Sewoon Sangga and the 1970 Korea Expo Pavillion.
