The Yeouido Plan, 1968

In 1965, the recently established Korean Engineering Consultants Corporation (KECC) became the lead governmental organization for the construction of state-led projects and infrastructures, including major highways and bridges. They hired Kim Soo-Geun for the design of the Yeouido island.

Kim later became the second inaugurated president for the KECC, and the organization employed many more well-known architects that shaped South Korea today, with works including the infamous Sewoon Sangga and the 1970 Korea Expo Pavillion.
