Yeouido: Apartments buildings in 1970s

Blocks of residential apartment buildings are built on Yeouido island, where at the time was drained out by the Han River as well. The gridded blocks and such highrises differ from the vernacular, single-story buildings in downtown Seoul. The Mapo bridge, which connects to Mapo-gu, is being constructed during this time as well.

The island continued development as people were moving in the apartments.
