Jingdezhen: Space adjustment and upgrading based on the needs of the porcelain industry
The distribution of villages and workshop clusters are scattered throughout the city. Based on this situation, the future development direction should be determined on the basis of their comprehensive value. First, upgrading, supporting storage, logistics transit, and formulate processing rules for production waste are necessary to reserve. It also provides more convenience and derivative functional space for the close cooperation between artists and operators of folk kiln.
Conversely, those that are not related to the upgraded industrial chain, have high pollution, and cause serious interference to the surrounding living environment, they must be gradually replaced.
In terms of old factory areas, the correlation between the factory area and the future industrial chain is an important judgement. The factories that used as warehouses or production workshop at low prices have weak connection with production chain and perform demolition and update. For factories that have spontaneously gathered popularity and formed urban vitality, such as the Sculpture Porcelain Factory, they can receive scattered and irregular private operators, and cultivate businesses. Therefore, there are still some spare plant areas that can be upgraded to urban public facilities to improve urban functions.
Apart from factory area renewal, residential resettlement area in factory area should be considered to provide a better living for workers. The new city is also gradually generating sustainable development momentum driven by the industry.
