Seoul: Yeouido Project/Constructing a ‘miracle,’ Architecture, National Identity and Development of Han River

This thesis focuses on several national mega projects along the Han River, one of which is Yeouido Project. These mega projects are all related to the national identity of South Korea. The form of urbanization needs to be symbolic and express a new image along the Han River representing the modern country.

Apart from analysis the process of these projects, the author also related them to the current political and economical situation at that time. Additionally, it analysed the relation among the project, architect and the government.

  1. Avoid posting book covers or dissertation report covers, unless they are of historical value. Why not identify relevant historical maps or images used in these books to back up your narrative or commentary?
